Today LinkedIn has changed the permissions and availability of their API and divided the API into different groups: Sign-In, Sharing and Apply with LinkedIn.

The access to the last group (Apply with LinkedIn) now requires a special permission from LinkedIn.

Without the explicit permission from LinkedIn you can no longer retrieve data like for example a user’s job skills, certifications, patents and other information.

Requesting these details from LinkedIn without having the permission to do so will display an error to your users and prevent them from logging in. For this reason we have now disabled the corresponding options in the LinkedIn settings of our customers.

If your website or mobile application relies on that data, then you must request the permission to use it from LinkedIn and then re-enable the corresponding options in your OneAll LinkedIn Settings.

LinkedIn has also removed the possibility to retrieve the user’s contacts and to use direct messaging. These features are no longer functional will be removed from the LinkedIn settings: Send messages/invitations, Read Connections.

These changes do not require you to modify your OneAll site. OneAll takes take of the technical implementation and we have already adapted our system to the new LinkedIn API.

However, if your website or mobile app currently relies on LinkedIn contact or direct messaging features, you must double-check your setup to make sure that it still works as intended.

Until April 20, 2015 it was possible to use Social Login with Google without having to setup a Google application in your OneAll account. This was made possible by using Google OpenID for sign in.

Several months ago we already added the possibility to switch to the newer Google+ protocol simply by setting up Google in your OneAll account. This setup was optional but has now become a requirement as Google has shutdown OpenID.

More about these changes here:
https://developers.google.com/identity/protocols/OpenID2Migration

OpenID can no longer be used to login with Google accounts. OpenID 2.0 support was shut down in order to focus on the newer open standard OpenID Connect, which provides greater security for your account.

Due to this change you now have to setup Google in your OneAll account if you want to use or continue using the Google+ login on your website. Besides the one-time setup you don’t need to take any other action, we take care of the technical background.

If you see any errors while using OneAll to login with Google then please login to your OneAll account and follow the Google setup guide.

Zapier makes it easy to connect your web services – like Evernote, MailChimp, Gmail and now also OneAll – together, saving time and improving productivity.

By linking services together, you can automate tasks – such as adding users to a MailChimp subscriber list after they have logged in with Social Login. These triggers are called automatically without you having to remember to do them each time.

It’s a really efficient way of using the social network profile data that Social Login provides. More information is available in our Zapier Integration Guide.
